The long expected publication of the genealogical research after the ‘Van Dorland’ family,
and the ‘Markense’ offshoot of this part of the family: ‘Dorland’

Being both authors and organisers, we could have never dreamed that so many (over 300!) family members would be present. Many of you have let us know that they had an unforgettable day; for us a very big compliment indeed. For this we thank you very much. Of course we are more than interested in your response to the book itself, now that you have had time to look at it thoroughly. You can e-mail us. One thing cannot have gone unnoticed: the airplane dragging the text line “VAN DORLANDS WELKOM IN INGEN” (... welcome to Ingen). This neat extra feature was presented to us by:

The media had extensive attention for the happening itself. Camera crews of national television network ‘RTL5’ and local network ‘TV Gelderland’ shot news reports. (Broadcast RTL5: June 23rd 2001, 07:00 PM; broadcast TV Gelderland: June 25th, every hour a rerun as part of the TV Gelderland News. The writing press has also paid some attention to the publication of the Van Dorland family book.

On the family day itself, both video recordings as well as photographs have been made.
